Macron postpones reprisals against UK

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday he was postponing planned trade sanctions on Britain so that negotiators from both sides could work on new proposals to defuse their dispute over post-Brexit fishing rights. France had earlier said it would restrict cross-Channel trade starting from 23:00 local time on Monday, threatening to turn bickering over fish into a wider trade dispute between two of Europe's biggest economies. But Macron, who earlier met British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the sidelines of the United Nations climate conference in Glasgow on Monday, told reporters the French plan was on hold pending the outcome of renewed talks.

Teheran warns against 'regional threats'

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman warned on Monday against what he called regional threats of Israel and called the latest United States-led military flight over regional waters "provocative".When asked about the allocation of $1.5 billion by Israel to counter Iran's nuclear program, spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said Iran has never ruled out or ignored the threats posed by Israel against stability and security in the region. The nature of Israel "is creating crisis", said Khatibzadeh during a weekly news conference. Israeli, Egyptian, Saudi Arabian and Bahraini fighter jets flew with a US advanced fighter bomber on Sunday across Middle Eastern maritime vital points.
