The photo exhibition Life in Barkhor kicked off on Tuesday in Lhasa, Tibet autonomous region.

The exhibition, which will run two months, displays more than 50 photographic works by photographer Wang Ning in Lhasa since 2010, showcasing various life stories there.

Lhasa is an ancient city about 1,300 years old. In 1982, it was listed as a national historical and cultural city, and has been named as China's happiest city for several years.

Barkhor Street in Lhasa is a well-known cultural avenue and is regarded as an ancient town by Lhasa residents.

Photographer Wang said part of his work showcases traditional Tibetan culture and the living conditions of local people. It includes many examples of old architecture, temples, homes, teahouses and shops.
