Consul General of Italy in Shanghai looking forward to 4th CIIE

According to Cecchi, Italian exports to China have grown 35 percent in the first 8 months of 2021 compared to last year, and by 19 percent if compared to the pre-COVID period.
"The IMF has forecast that China alone will contribute to one fourth of the global GDP growth in the next five years," he said. "It's natural that the Italian government and companies follow the implementation of China's 14th Five-year Plan. The quality products and technologies from Italy can provide solutions for China in machinery, green energy, consumer goods and healthcare industries."
To Cecchi, the CIIE is not only a business platform but also an essential means to promote cultural exchanges.
"That is why we're organizing a very interesting exhibition at the Peal Art Museum, which will open on the same day of the CIIE and facilitate a dialogue between Italian and Chinese artists," he said.
"Our presence here in the CIIE is meant not only to open trade and business opportunities but also to enhance friendships."
