Jilin posts robust foreign trade growth
Jilin province saw its foreign trade grow 27.7 percent year-on-year to reach 118.8 billion yuan ($18.46 billion) in the first three quarters, local Customs authorities said. The growth rate was 5 percentage points higher than the national average in the period, according to Changchun Customs in the provincial capital of Changchun. The province has registered foreign trade growth for 10 consecutive months. Jilin's commodity exports climbed 20.6 percent year-on-year to 25.36 billion yuan in the first three quarters, while imports soared 29.7 percent to 93.41 billion yuan over the same period.
Huawei signs power project in Shaanxi
Chinese tech giant Huawei inked a green energy project deal in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, at the 2021 Euro-Asia Economic Forum that opened on Monday. The project, located in the High-Tech Industrial Development Zone of Xi'an, will be jointly built by Huawei, the zone's administrative committee, and the Shaanxi Branch of State Power Investment Corp Ltd. With an investment of over 10 billion yuan ($1.56 billion) from SPIC's Shaanxi branch, the three sides will work together to accelerate photovoltaic construction and promote green electricity trade, said the committee.
