The website, jointly built by Kunming Foreign Affairs Office and China Daily, strives to help Kunming city tell its stories to the outside world and to boost the city's international communication.

English services information in areas of culture, tourism, life, and investment are available through the PC and mobile website versions, in a variety of forms such as articles, pictures, illustrations, videos, micro videos, and specials.

Sun Qun, deputy mayor of the Kunming Municipal People’s Government, said in his speech that the website is being launched at the right time. Departments at all levels in Kunming should make good use of the new English website, and give full play to its role in serving Kunming by being a higher level of opening up to the outside world.

Wang Hao, deputy editor-in-chief of China Daily, said that China Daily has been building English websites for governments for years, assisting Chinese governments at different levels in their information construction and brand-building. The English website of Kunming will focus on communicating the city’s stories of development, culture, foreign exchanges, and people.

The website has six navigational items - Kunming Info, Media Center, For Visitors, Overview, Updates, and Tourism, as well as 28 secondary items.

In addition to daily news and content updates, the website will also showcase important events, Kunming’s economic development achievements, and foreign cultural exchanges through specials and charts.

The web design features a combination of international and Kunming characteristics, a focus on user needs, and an interactive design that provides people with a comfortable experience.
