Posters of Winter Olympics bring local activities and global games together

Our Olympics poster series, designed by Beijing-based designer Yan Dong, combines Chinese landscape painting with contemporary design, bringing together Chinese grassroots winter activities and Winter Olympics events.

"When the Houhai water area of Beijing freezes in winter, many people ice skate on it. In fact, there are other similarities, including with the Winter Paralympics. Playing ice hockey, for example, is similar to how Beijingers used to roll iron hoops on the ice," Yan said. "I want to express the concept – let's do sports together, because Winter Olympics is for all of us."
