Wastewater treatment project to go into operation in Shenzhen
An environmental treatment project in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, featuring the comprehensive treatment of high-concentration wastewater, will be put into operation by the end of this year, according to the project's constructor.
The project, located in Shenzhen's Bao'an district, with a designed treatment capacity of 330,000 tons of hazardous waste annually, will help increase the comprehensive utilization of resources within the area, said Zhao Changjun, a manager with the China Railway First Group Co Ltd, which is responsible for the construction of the project.
The main building of the second phase of the project, with a construction area of more than 89,000 square meters, was capped off on Wednesday, according to Zhao.
The project, so far the largest of its kind in terms of the treatment of high-concentration wastewater in China, will help recycle 180,000 tons worth of resources per year, according to Zhao.
