Hengshui inside-bottle painting, a technique used to paint snuff bottles, has been listed as a form of national intangible cultural heritage in 2006. Artisans' paintbrushes need to reach the inside of the bottle via a bottleneck measuring less than 1 cm in width. The usual themes of these paintings are flowers, birds and natural landscapes.
