Dushanzi puts ethylene plant into operation

The Dushanzi petrochemical plant located in China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corp, achieved an annual ethylene production capacity of up to two million tons with its ethylene plant put into operation on Tuesday, the company said.
With a total investment of more than eight billion yuan ($1.24 billion), the project will also take advantage of abundant local natural gas from China National Petroleum Corp's Tarim oilfield.
The ethylene plant is CNPC's largest single investment in southern Xinjiang.
