Inner Mongolia's beef output ranks first

Beef production in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region reached 663,000 tons in 2020, ranking first in China, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics. The regional agriculture and animal husbandry department attributed the boom in beef production to the local authorities' effort to promote high-end cattle breeds and plant forage grass and silage corn. The region has more than 5.8 million cattle in stock. Its production capacity of dried forage grass and silage corn has reached 6 million tons and 45 million tons a year, respectively.
