Xiamen University and Yaoguang semiconductor technology company have also developed a hand-held deep UV disinfection instrument that can clear the virus under thin ice in seconds, decreasing the transmission risk of COVID-19 in cold chain food shipments.

As for large-scale coronavirus testing equipment, the exhibition showed an automatic testing machine that can complete the testing procedure in an enclosed environment while defending against cross-infection.

An antibacterial oral spray on display provided new perspective for individual protection against COVID-19. The special amino acid in the spray could block the virus from binding with receptors in the human body.

As the product of an emergency scientific research project at Xiamen University, the spray is the subject of three national invention patent applications.

Ye Bihai, deputy director of the Fujian science and technology department, said it is hoped the products will benefit all parts of society.

Feng Xiaojie contributed to this story.
