"During the peak harvest, I can wash over 50 kg of mushrooms a day and earn 200 yuan," she said.

There are around 200 workers in the market who do the washing for customers. But the work doesn't stop there. Another job opportunity is selling the mushrooms via livestreaming.

Zhang Qianqian, a livestreaming host who promotes wild mushrooms in the market, knows the species, qualities, prices and cooking methods.

"I have won the trust of my customers," she said. "In peak season, I can sell over 50 kg of mushroom in two hours of livestreaming."
