Shaanxi plans pilot zones for carbon-pool
Northwest China's Shaanxi province is aiming to establish carbon-pool pilot zones with an area of more than 74,700 hectares by the year of 2030, according to local authorities. As of 2025, the province will build 70 carbon-pool pilot zones based on diverse landforms, including forests, grasslands, wetlands and nature reserves, according to a program made public by the provincial forestry bureau. The plan includes a system for measuring and monitoring forestry carbon sinks across the province, in tandem with efforts to construct research centers, stations and surveillance sites.
H1 panda bonds surge 43% to $8.96b
China's "panda bond" issuances surged in the first half of the year, though its financing environment tightened compared to the same period last year, according to an industry report. The issuance of panda bonds-yuan-denominated debts sold by overseas issuers in China-reached 57.9 billion yuan ($8.96 billion) in the first half, up 42.6 percent year-on-year, according to data from China Chengxin International Credit Rating Co Ltd. During the period, 37 such bonds were issued by 17 market entities.
