Fresh floods hit amid stormy weather
New floods have again swamped areas of Belgium and washed away cars as a wave of thunderstorms and heavy rain hit the country on Saturday. The provinces of Namur and Walloon Brabant southeast of the capital Brussels were particularly badly hit. The country, with a population of 11.5 million, had already been impacted by devastating floods that left 36 people dead. The death toll from recent floods in Belgium and neighboring countries had passed 210.
YEMEN
50 killed in operation against Houthis
At least 50 people were killed and dozens wounded on Sunday in an armed confrontation between pro-government Yemeni forces and the Houthi militia in the country's northeastern province of Marib. The Houthis carried out a number of attacks against the government-controlled military positions, while the Saudi-led coalition launched airstrikes to support the government forces, a military official said.

Snow leopard Ramil catches coronavirus
An unvaccinated snow leopard at the San Diego Zoo has contracted COVID-19. Caretakers noticed that Ramil, a 9-year-old male, had a cough and runny nose on Thursday. Later, two separate tests of his stool confirmed the presence of the coronavirus, the zoo said on Friday. It is unclear how Ramil became infected.
