The 2021 Mohe Polar Day Marathon unfolded in Beiji village in China’s northernmost city, Mohe, Heilongjiang province, on Saturday.

The event, including a full marathon, a half-marathon and a mini-marathon, attracted around 4,000 participants from across the country.

Even in midsummer, the climate in Mohe is cool and pleasant, with the average daily temperatures of around 18 C and nearly 20 hours of daylight.

Runners followed the Heilong River, the boundary between China and Russia, enjoying a fresh breeze behind them as they passed beautiful forestry scenery.
