Experts hail CPC's role in development

PHNOM PENH－China has made great achievements in the past decades thanks to the Communist Party of China's wise leadership and its development success is the result of the country following its own path, experts say.

"I'd like to commend the CPC and the Chinese people for the great achievements over the past century, particularly the first centenary goal," Cambodia's Senate President Say Chhum said recently.

"These accomplishments have been made possible thanks to the wise leadership of the CPC," Say Chhum said in a written interview, adding that the eradication of absolute poverty is a key factor for China to reach its goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

Say Chhum, also vice-president of the ruling Cambodian People's Party, or CPP, said he highly appreciates the CPC and the Chinese government for not only successfully controlling the spread of COVID-19 in the country but also for promoting international partnerships and cooperation to fight the pandemic.

He also extended his sincere gratitude to China for offering necessary medical supplies and vaccines to Cambodia amid the pandemic, particularly for supporting the Cambodian government's vaccination campaign.

"China has strongly encouraged the development, production and equitable distribution of vaccines and to make the vaccines a global public good," he said.

It is impressive that China is the only major economy in the world which registered positive economic growth last year during the pandemic, he said.

Say Chhum said he is optimistic that China's new development paradigm known as dual circulation "will continue to accelerate the development pace of China".

He said that only through multilateralism and international cooperation can the world address the daunting challenges facing humanity.

"In this context, the CPP warmly welcomes and strongly supports the CPC's proposal for a new type of international relations and building a community with a shared future for mankind," he said.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC as well as the 70th anniversary of the founding of the CPP, he noted, adding that both countries will jointly organize celebrations.

Muhammadjon Obidov, chairman of the Fergana branch of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan and editor-in-chief of the newspaper Fargona Hakikati (The Truth of Fergana), said China has chosen its own path of development and achieved prosperity that deserves respect.

China's success is the result of "a wise policy and the leadership" of the CPC, Obidov said.

"I have visited this amazing country several times and I have seen many changes with my own eyes," Obidov said.

The journalist said that since the CPC pursued a policy of reform and opening-up in 1978, China has achieved tremendous socio-economic success.

Obidov underlined that the Chinese people enjoy a wide range of rights and freedoms such as the rights to work and education, as well as freedom of speech, the press and assembly, according to the Constitution and other laws of China.
