NEW OPENING

Accor's latest flagship resort in China, the Fairmont Sanya Haitang Bay has officially opened on the southern island province of Hainan. With its unique setting and premium services, the new hotel offers a perfect coastal retreat imbued with rich cultural heritage and surrounded in the beauty and grandeur of Haitang Bay in Sanya, a tropical paradise.

PLAY ON SPIRIT

Moxy Shanghai Hongqiao CBD is holding an art exhibition to celebrate the hotel's opening in June, which marked the Moxy brand's debut on the Chinese mainland. The exhibition, which is scheduled to run to July 18, features creations by nine young artists from different sectors, including art installation, graphic design, photography, fashion design, graffiti and illustration. Their interpretations of popular cultural trends convey the brand spirit of "Play on Spirit", according to the hotel.

SUMMER CAMP

Hilton Sanya Yalong Bay Resort &Spa in Hainan province is offering a summer camp for children, with each session lasting three days. Young participants will be given the opportunity to learn about plants and animals in a garden and ethnic culture on the island. They can also learn to make pastries and a ukulele, craft animal images with coconut leaves, and build architectural models, as well as join a variety of games. The activities are designed to improve the children's ability to cooperate, innovate, imagine and communicate, the hotel said.

FREE ENTRY

Shanghai announced in late June that its list of free parks has expanded by three-Shanghai Gongqing Forest Park, Shanghai Binjiang Forest Park and Century Park-pushing the total number on the list to 392. That means 97 percent of parks in the metropolis are open to the public free of charge. Of the three newcomers-each of which covers an area of more than 66 hectares-two are 4A scenic sites, which is the second-highest in China's rating system for tourist attractions.
