Monitor shipments surge in first quarter

China's shipments of personal computer monitors surged 48.6 percent year-on-year to 7.55 million units in the first quarter. The shipment of PC monitors in the commercial market jumped 77.5 percent to 4.41 million units, while that in the consumer market grew 20.9 percent to 3.14 million units, according to International Data Corp.

PBOC conducts 10b yuan of reverse repos

The central bank on Monday conducted 10 billion yuan ($1.55 billion) of reverse repos to maintain ample liquidity in the banking system. The interest rate for the seven-day reverse repos was set at 2.2 percent, according to the People's Bank of China.
