Health rated most worthwhile investment among rich individuals: Report

"Health" is the most worthwhile investment among high net-worth individuals, according to a survey in a report about a healthy home released on Monday from a subsidiary of the research company Hurun.
According to the report, some 48 percent of the respondents ranked "health" first in the wealth of life, while 19 percent chose "family affection" and 11 percent picked "career". Only 3 percent of those surveyed put "public welfare" as the top worthy investment in their lives, the report showed.
In terms of how to improve health, 76 percent of those surveyed believed they need to "maintain healthy lifestyle habits (including diet, exercise and sleep)", followed by "focusing on adjusting psychological balance" (59 percent). Some half of the respondents believed that they can improve the health of their families by "building a healthy living environment".
Nearly 100 Chinese high net-worth individuals and dozens of senior interior designers participated in the survey. The average age of HNWIs was 34 years old, with 59 percent female and 41 percent male. The average household net worth stood at 32 million yuan ($4.95 million).
"Telecommuting" was the most impressive experience during the COVID-19 pandemic for those surveyed. Over 60 percent of respondents spent more time cooking and dining at home, working from home, reading and communicating with friends and family, as well as studying, compared with the level prior to the pandemic, the report said.
