CPC celebrations light up the waterfront

The light show will be staged till July 4 every night. According to the Shanghai Landscaping and City Appearance Administrative Bureau, the light show will be held between 7:30 pm and 10:30 pm and can be seen from the Bund, the North Bund and Lujiazui areas.

According to the police, 80,000 people gathered at the Bund to watch the show, a record high in crowd numbers in recent years.

The Huangpu district police will be taking measures to limit the number of visitors in each section of the Bund to ensure safety. It has also employed the use of smart technology to monitor and help manage visitor flow along the waterfront and at other red tourism sites.

At the Lujiazui area in Pudong, district police said that 1,800 security guards will be working on the frontlines every night to control visitor flow and maintain order.
