Hangzhou and Jiaxing authorities recently published a plan for the development of the pilot areas for Hangzhou-Jiaxing integration, local media reported.

The pilot areas include seven subdistricts in Hangzhou, as well as three towns and one resort in Jiaxing.

The plan specifies four major projects involving ecological environmental management, functional service integration, special industrial chains enhancement, and transportation interconnectivity.

Since 2020, the two cities have cooperated in major platform construction, transportation and public service.

The Tongxiang county-level city in Jiaxing has attracted a group of Hangzhou companies. Hangzhou universities have also set up research institutes in Tongxiang.

The upcoming Hangzhou-Haining railway will reduce the journey between the two cities from one hour to 30 minutes. Nine bus routes that connect these cities have also been launched.

In addition, residents from Jiaxing and Hangzhou can use their health insurance cards to pay their medical bills in designated hospitals within the other city.
