Pachyderm patrol: Tracking the wild elephant herd

The migration of 15 wild Asian elephants that left their habitat in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan province, has caught global attention recently. Photos and videos showing the herd have garnered millions of views around the world.

Behind the firsthand videos and photos of the epic journey are 12 forestry police officers in charge of monitoring the migration of the elephants around the clock at the Yunnan Provincial Forest Fire Brigade. See how they are performing the monitoring responsibilities as well as some of the memorable photos they've taken via drones.
