Tariff exemptions for 79 US products
China has extended tariff exemptions for 79 industrial items and commodities from the United States, including rare earth minerals, medical disinfectants and airborne radar for aircraft, through the end of the year. The government said that the tariff exemption for the 79 products due to expire on Tuesday will be extended till Dec 25 this year, according to a notice released by the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council. These products were targeted by China's response to US tariffs under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974.
Textile industry sees steady expansion
China's textile industry saw steady expansion during the first three months of the year, data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed. The added value of textile firms with annual operating revenue of at least 20 million yuan ($3.09 million) rose by 20.3 percent on a yearly basis, according to the ministry.
