Holiday fillip for delivery companies

China's courier sector collected 1.34 billion parcels during the five-day May Day holiday that ended on Wednesday, up 97.13 percent from the pre-pandemic level in 2019 and up 22.95 percent from the same period a year ago, the State Post Bureau said on Thursday. Online sales of agricultural products continued to see rapid growth, it said. Express parcels received and delivered in rural areas rose by 30 percent on a yearly basis during the holiday, up 10 percentage points over the number in urban areas.

Transport investment up in first quarter
