Forbidden City to host concert series

Conductor Hu Biao will lead the Poly Tiange Traditional Chinese Orchestra to give a concert on May 2, with a repertoire of classic Chinese pieces, such as Ode to the Red Flag and My Motherland.

For movie lovers, a concert by China Broadcasting Film Symphony Orchestra and conductor Fan Tao will perform music pieces adapted from movie soundtracks on May 3.

On May 4, conductor Yang Li will lead a children's chorus to perform popular songs, such as Jasmine Flower, Sing A Song to the Partyand Red Star Song.

The series of performances during the May Day holiday will be closed by Chinese guqing masters Liu Shanjiao, Ma Weiheng, Zhu Xi, and bamboo flautist Wang Jianxin.
