City reports 5 new imported cases
Five new imported cases of COVID-19 were reported in Shanghai on Thursday, the municipal health commission announced on Friday. One of the cases was found to be infected 11 days after completion of quarantine. The person, a Chinese who studied in New Zealand, had tested negative for the virus twice during quarantine. This person landed at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on March 28 and finished the 14-day quarantine on April 11. The person later developed symptoms of fever and cough and was subsequently diagnosed with COVID-19.

Zhuhai Airshow to start on Sept 28
The 13th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, the largest arms show in the nation, will take place from Sept 28 to Oct 3 in Guangdong province's Zhuhai, its organizing committee said on Friday afternoon. The biennial event was originally scheduled to open in November 2020 in Zhuhai but the organizing committee announced in October last year that it decided to postpone the air show due to the impact of COVID-19. Popularly known as Zhuhai Airshow, it is one of the largest defense exhibitions in the world and the only regular occasion for members from the public to closely observe Chinese weapons, especially those designed for export purpose. The 12th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition was held in November 2018, attracting more than 400,000 visitors.

Dangerous driving tops charges in Q1
A total of 74,713 suspects were charged with dangerous driving by Chinese procuratorial authorities from January to March, with the number topping all types of crimes prosecuted during the period, according to data released by the Supreme People's Procuratorate on Friday. It was followed by 45,662 individuals prosecuted for theft and 24,173 for fraud, the SPP data showed. Overall, procuratorates across the country approved arrests of more than 193,000 criminal suspects and prosecuted over 361,000 in the first quarter, up 45 percent and 31 percent, respectively. Traffic violations such as drunk driving, serious overspeeding and overloading when driving school buses or passenger transport vehicles constitute the crime of dangerous driving, according to China's Criminal Law.
