The group for "A Date with China" international media tour visited Jinmi village of Zhashui county in Shaanxi province on Monday, exploring the village's industry, which is driven by fungi and has greatly contributed to poverty alleviation.

Jinmi village used to be a well-known impoverished village due to inconvenient topography and insufficient arable land. Of the whole population, 553 people in 188 families were registered as impoverished, a poverty incidence of 21.85 percent.

At present, people have obtained real income by a "double-increase model". In the past year, they have been focused on improving their brand of fungi, as well as selling both online and offline to expand sales channels. Eighty new steel greenhouses have been built to augment the 52 existing greenhouses, as well as four intelligent facilities.
