The eighth China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair kicked off on Thursday as a platform showcasing the state-of-art technologies and innovations.

Held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, this year's fair takes up a total exhibition area of 35,000 square meters, the same scale as last year's event.

Despite the global pandemic, the event has attracted more than 1,000 enterprises from home and abroad, which hits a historical height.

"As all parties across the world are battling the COVID-19 and restless efforts are made for the economic recovery, the fair hopes to showcase cutting-edge technologies, leverage innovative resources, as well as promote global innovation collaboration and technology trade development," said Gong Zheng, mayor of Shanghai.

According to Gong, the past seven editions of China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair played an active role in attracting global innovations. The fair has boosted the materialization of technological achievements, as well as facilitating collaboration in innovation.

Quite a few achievements related to livelihoods were presented at the exhibition, which covers technological innovation, urban regeneration, professional technology, innovative ecology and trade service.

Shanghai-based DeepBlue Technology presented various robots providing services such as disinfection, cleaning and food delivery.

Autonomous driving technology company Nullmax showcased its latest autonomous driving products and technologies being applied to mass production.

Domestic cosmetic brand Mariedalgar displayed its intelligent lipstick customizing machine that allows users to get a tailor-made lipstick within six minutes, according to the Shanghai Securities News report.
