A good book and the serene surroundings of a dedicated reading space provide a blissful atmosphere for bookworms on Jiangxin islet in the Beijiang River, Qingyuan city, Guangdong province. The Yimo Study, in the city's Qingcheng district, is a project co-founded by initiator Qin Hongyan and local authorities in 2017. The venue is open to the general public and free to use. The quiet hamlet beckons book lovers and provides them with the tranquillity they need to pursue their literary endeavors. Since last year, the study has turned into an "island academy", which, in conjunction with the psychology department of Zhongshan University, has organized 200 cultural activities, including free lectures on Sinology, poetry reading, recitals and art salons.
