The art of the Wei (220-265) and Jin (265-420) dynasties is marked by elegance and refined beauty. It inspires modern painters like Gu Ping, a resident artist at the China National Academy of Painting in Beijing.

Gu's one-man exhibition at the National Art Museum of China, running until April 12, features more than 60 figure paintings and landscapes to review his artistic progress over the past three decades.

Gu's brushwork is reminiscent of the style of Wei and Jin paintings, and pursues a harmonious co-existence between men and nature.
