Cherry trees of a different color

Pink, white, red — everyone knows the common colors of cherry blossoms. But they also come in green.

At Nanjing's Xuanwu Lake Park, about 30 green cherry trees are in full bloom, and curious visitors may come to enjoy them before mid-April.

Rong Feixia, director of the park's management office, said the color of the petals changes in different stages of flowering.

"The green color will fade gradually and turn into a transparent yellow-green color," she said. "The flowering lasts 20 to 30 days."
