More than 20 sakura trees are blooming on the campus of Wuhan University in Hubei province. When the wind blows, the petals take to the air like pink flower rain.

Because of the coronavirus, students at the university were not able to enjoy the beauty of sakura in person. For them, it's like seeing an old friend this year.

This year's sakuras blossomed earlier than expected because of the warm weather. Full bloom will arrive in mid-March, said He Jiannong, a gardening engineer at the school.
