Industrial robot output increases by 19.1%

Industrial robot production rose by 19.1 percent on a yearly basis in China last year. The higher output indicates an acceleration of intelligent upgrading of the enterprises, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Last year, the operating income of industrial robot manufacturing enterprises above a designated size grew by 6 percent on a yearly basis, data from the ministry showed. The market for service robots performed well, with the operating income of relative enterprises above a designated size reaching 10.31 billion yuan ($1.6 billion).

Parcel shipments surge during Spring Festival

Chinese couriers delivered 365 million parcels during the first five days of the weeklong Spring Festival holiday, up by 224 percent over the same period last year, data from the State Post Bureau showed. On the first two days of the holiday, which started on Feb 11, express delivery firms handled some 130 million parcels, up by 223 percent on a yearly basis.
