Safe returns
As millions of people make return journeys at the end of the annual Spring Festival holiday, the authorities are taking stringent measures to prevent any further spread of COVID-19.
In Beijing, measures are being enforced that were announced by the municipal government on Jan 27.
In order to enter Beijing from low-risk areas from Jan 28 to March 15, it is necessary to have a negative nucleic acid test report issued within seven days before arrival in the city and to conduct 14 days of home health monitoring after arrival. On the seventh and 14th days after arrival, returnees are required to undergo nucleic acid tests.
People from medium or high-risk areas or areas under closed management are forbidden to enter the capital. Exceptions are made for people with special needs. They must obtain approval from their local provincial epidemic prevention and control department and also have a negative nucleic acid test report issued within 72 hours of their arrival.
