Focusing on the front line
Since Jan 2, Shijiazhuang, capital of Hebei province, has been battling a COVID-19 outbreak. As of Saturday, the city of 11 million people had reported 868 locally transmitted cases, of which 168 are still being treated. City authorities introduced a sweeping stay-at-home order and later suspended outbound travel to halt the spread of the disease. Through the disease prevention and control measures, the outbreak has been largely contained and people's lives are slowly returning to normal. China Daily photographer Wang Zhuangfei turns his lens on the city's fight against the outbreak.
