President Xi's visits before Spring Festival

For nine years in a row, President Xi Jinping has visited people in villages and townships, especially disadvantaged groups, ahead of Spring Festival, or the Chinese Lunar New Year.

Let's check out some of the most memorable moments during his pre-Spring Festival tours.

Xi went to Qianxi county in the city of Bijie and inspected the ecological environment of a major tributary of Wujiang River.

He visited a village in an ethnic Miao township and made Huangba, a traditional dessert made of sticky rice, with villagers.

He also visited a workshop creating Miao-style embroidery.
