FLIGHT BOOKINGS

Passengers in China with flight bookings scheduled between Jan 28 and March 8 can request full refunds or reschedule their flights free of charge, the Civil Aviation Administration of China said on Tuesday. The aim is to cut the movement of people in order to fight COVID-19 during the Spring Festival holiday, an important time for families to reunite.

BLACKLISTED DESTINATIONS

China's blacklist system for cross-border gambling tourist destinations will add more destinations to its list, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced on Tuesday. The ministry, in conjunction with relevant departments, will make a list of the second batch of overseas destinations that attract Chinese tourists for gambling activities. These will be subsequently added to the system, the ministry noted.

CULINARY DELIGHTS

To celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday, Kerry Hotel Pudong Shanghai has launched a variety of family reunion dinner menus and hampers. Among them is a roasted suckling pig hamper, designed for four to six people. Priced at 1,688 yuan ($260), the hamper includes a roasted suckling pig; braised fish maws, abalone and sea cucumber; four bowls of Monk Jumps Over the Wall seafood soup; poached free-range chicken; honey roasted char siu; braised beef brisket; Sarawak pepper sausage; salted-egg rice cake; and India Pale Ale craft beer.

Shangri-La Hotel, Shenyang in Liaoning province, is offering a variety of Lunar New Year's Eve dinner products and providing a delivery service. The hotel says it adheres to strict standards of food hygiene, with all staff wearing masks, measuring body temperatures and disinfecting their hands. Takeouts are packaged in special areas and packagers are required to increase their frequency of hand disinfection. Deliverymen wearing masks wait in a designated zone and undertake temperature checks and special disinfection.
