Kingsoft Office, a leading Chinese office software and internet service provider, and smartphone maker Huawei's Indonesia branch reached an agreement with the education authorities in Indonesia on Thursday to speed up digital transformation of education in Indonesia.

Kingsoft Office will provide WPS Office suites for 500 universities in Indonesia, and support the latter in carrying out online education and telecommuting, while Huawei's Indonesia branch will offer 1,000 Huawei cloud e-learning accounts to 500 Indonesian universities.

Cheng Bin, the head of Kingsoft Office's overseas business, said they have provided office software products for several Southeast Asian countries, including the Ministry of Defense in Thailand, the Ministry of Education in Indonesia and the University of Indonesia.

Cheng added this cooperation means China's leading office services will expand into the countries and regions participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, and help Indonesia accelerate the digital transformation of education to a new level.
