INCREASING CONNECTIVITY
The road network in Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region stretches more than 117,000 kilometers, up 50 percent from the end of 2015. The mileage of the rail network in the region has reached 954 km, according to data released at the ongoing fourth session of the 11th People's Congress of the region. Since late 2012, China has been strengthening its infrastructure investment in Tibet. So far, roads connect 95 percent of the township-level administrations and 75 percent of the villages in the region.
MIXED PERFORMANCE
Restaurants in Macao showed a mixed performance in November, the special administrative region's statistics service said on Wednesday. The latest report from the Statistics and Census Service indicated 28 percent of the interviewed restaurants recorded a year-on-year rise in revenue or steady performance in November, a decrease of 2 percentage points from October. On the other hand, 72 percent of the interviewed restaurants reported a year-on-year decline in revenue in the month, an increase of 2 percentage points in terms of the number of businesses from October.
MEMBERSHIP UPGRADE
Hospitality group Accor announced on Wednesday that it has become the global hotel partner for upgraded memberships to Fliggy, e-commerce giant Alibaba's online travel arm. Members have the opportunity to be upgraded to ALL Platinum member status by staying just six nights within 120 days compared to the established requirement of 60 nights stay within a year to reach this same membership level. Privileges for ALL Platinum members include suite upgrades, executive club lounge access and free breakfast, as well as accelerated reward points.
