Fuxing EMU for low temperatures
China on Wednesday launched a high-speed Electric Multiple Unit that can operate under temperatures as low as -40 C in Beijing. The EMU, named Fuxing, has a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is expected to run on the high-speed railway between Beijing and Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province.
Manzhouli hub for freight trains
The number of China-Europe freight trains arriving and departing via Manzhouli, China's largest land port, reached a record high in 2020, local railway authorities said. In 2020, some 3,548 cross-border freight trains went through the port, up 35.1 percent on a yearly basis.
