Several injured after shooting in Berlin

BERLIN -- Authorities said several people were injured in a shooting in Berlin on Saturday.
The fire department reported that three people were seriously injured and rushed to hospitals. The police reported four injuries.
A fire department spokesman said rescue workers and emergency doctors had treated the injured at the scene before they were taken to hospitals.
Numerous heavily armed officers were on duty around the scene to search for those involved in the conflict, both injured and perpetrators.
The incident happened at a gate entrance on Stresemannstrasse in Kreuzberg of Berlin. The police have cordoned off the area.
An injured man was pulled out from the nearby canal. The police said he jumped into the water on his own.
The police were currently unable to provide any information about the background of the crime.
