The key word to describe the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, signed this November, is "inclusive", said Vannarith Chheang, president of the Cambodia-based think tank Asian Vision Institute. Because the world is operating in the context of protectionism and unilateralism and a decline in multilateralism, he added, promoting inclusive and open multilateral systems plays a critical role in sustaining economic momentum.

RCEP will make trade and investment much more convenient for various businesspeople, said Oh Ei Sun, senior fellow with the Singapore Institute of International Affairs.
