SMEs see steady recovery last month
Small and medium-sized enterprises in China saw moderate recovery and improved vitality as the country continued its robust overall recovery, according to the latest industry data. The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Index, based on a survey of 3,000 SMEs, rose by 0.1 point to 87.1 in November and hit a 10-month high, according to the China Association of Small and Medium Enterprises. The index contains multiple subindexes to gauge the performances and expectations of SMEs.
Foreign firms prefer Chinese suppliers
China remains the most attractive destination outside of their home countries for several companies that are considering changing suppliers in the wake of supply-chain disruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic, said a new survey from French credit insurer Euler Hermes. Nearly 52 percent of the companies said they had taken protective measures in response to the supply-chain disruptions, while 55 percent said they are considering wondering if they should look for new suppliers in the next six to 12 months. For those who are considering moving, Chinese suppliers remain the most popular option outside local ones, the report said. China appears in the top three for 18 percent of the surveyed companies considering changing suppliers.
