Tianjin hosts meeting to advance city’s high-quality development

Tianjin will further open up, strengthen international cooperation and share development opportunities, an official said during a meeting with foreign representatives on Nov 30.
The meeting aimed to advance the port city’s high-quality development under the guidance of recently released central government proposals for formulating the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) and the objectives for the year 2035, which were adopted at the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee.
More than 100 people from more than 37 countries and regions representing a diverse cross-section of Tianjin’s business, education, culture and international communities attended the meeting, sharing their experiences in the city and expectations for the future.
Jin Xiangjun, the deputy mayor of the municipality, said Tianjin would follow the central government's directions and become more open. He added that the city would achieve shared growth through collaboration and increase openness and cooperation to achieve high-quality development.
"I would like to express my warm thanks to the FTZ and Tianjin government for your great support during the last year – especially during the pandemic. We received a lot of support and contributions to ensure our operations continued," said Florian Mack from Airbus (Tianjin) Final Assembly Company. "Personally, I want to say thank you for helping my family and me to come to China."
Mack discussed the joint goals of the aircraft company and the fifth plenary session on technology innovation and accelerating digital development. He also stressed the importance of green development in conjunction with Tianjin’s government to reduce CO2 emissions.
Alexander Brose, the executive director and CEO of the Tianjin Juilliard School, expressed thanks to nearly all sectors of government for the staunch support the school has received. Brose added that Tianjin is developing into a culturally healthy and vibrant city full of potential, which has a business environment worthy of investment.
