Building materials sector on steady path

The building materials sector saw robust growth during the first nine months of the year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The sector's value-added output rose by 0.7 percent on a yearly basis during the period, reversing the previous downward trend, the ministry said. During September alone, the value-added output rose by 8.9 percent on a yearly basis, up by 2.4 percentage points from the growth rate a year ago, according to official data.

Hunan sees robust foreign trade growth

Central China's Hunan province saw robust foreign trade growth in the first 10 months of this year, Customs data showed on Friday. The total foreign trade volume increased by 6.8 percent year-on-year to nearly 379.7 billion yuan ($56.9 billion) over the period, according to Changsha Customs. The Association of Southeast Asian Nations remained the province's main trading partner during the period, with total exports and imports up 35.3 percent year-on-year to 65.38 billion yuan.

Boeing bullish on China's aviation market

Boeing has forecast that China will acquire 8,600 new airplanes valued at $1.4 trillion in the next 20 years, with commercial aviation services valued at $1.7 trillion, following a robust post-COVID-19 recovery. Boeing gave this outlook in an annual China market forecast, part of its 2020 Commercial Market Outlook, based on anticipated rising demand for commercial airplanes and services. China's growing middle-income group, steady economic growth and flourishing urbanization are all factors considered in the Boeing report, suggesting the country will lead in the passenger travel industry globally in the coming years.
