Tianjin to hold national innovation event in November

Tianjin will hold the national finals of the 2020 innovation competition in late November, according to a press conference held on Wednesday.

The competition has attracted the participation of 10,000 scientific and technological workers and innovators from 30 cities across the country.

Entries have showed off the participants' cutting-edge research and products in 40 industries including manufacturing, machinery, electronics, materials, chemicals, petroleum, biology, transportation, construction, and new energy.

After a series of regional competitions, 206 projects made it through to the national finals out of a total of 3,336 projects by 1,320 companies.

Having been on hold for two years, the event has become a special opportunity for top scientific and technological enterprises to exchange innovative results.

With a theme of Promoting the Spirit of Science and Stimulating Innovation Vitality, the event represents efforts to enhance the national drive and ability to innovate which was called for by the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee.
