Organizing talks given by important figures in various fields is a new common for bookstores to establish closer connections with today's readers.
JIC Bookstore launched its JIC Talks on Thursday at the chain's bookstore in Beijing's CBD commercial area. The first talk was given by Wang Yuesheng, a professor at Peking University who shared with the audience in the bookstore and online his views on global politics and the economy, and recommended relevant books to read more about both.
In its following events, the JIC Talks aim at widening readers' vision on the development of artificial intelligence, information security and smart vehicles, and other promising sections of technology and investment.
JIC Talks has held more than 70 events since 2016, with leading figures from universities and research institutes as guest speakers.
