The hosting of the 3rd CIIE in times of the pandemic situation reflects the Chinese government's confidence and determination to strengthen opening-up, promote the building of an open world economy, and build a community with a shared future for humanity.

China has sent positive signals and taken concrete actions in international cooperation against COVID-19 outbreak. Canon will showcase a series of leading equipment in the field of healthcare during the exhibition and is committed to promoting international medical exchanges, as well as making contributions to protecting the health of mankind.

China is set to enter a new stage of development during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period. In his keynote speech, President Xi emphasized bolstering the high-quality growth, and China's "dual circulation" development pattern, which takes the domestic market as the mainstay while allowing domestic and foreign markets to reinforce each other, will bring about new growth opportunities to foreign enterprises such as Canon.

Thanks to the huge potential of the Chinese market, a slew of positive measures such as speeding up the construction of free trade zones and optimizing business environment, our determination to invest and do business in China have also been strengthened. We will spare no effort to bring better products, technologies and services to the Chinese people, so as to grow together with the Chinese market and users and achieve a win-win situation.
