While sipping a cup of coffee boiled by the fuel of yak feces, one can appreciate the 7,111m high, snow-topped Nyenchen Tanglha mountain from an observation deck and cafe along a section in Damshung county of National Highway 109 in Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region. At an altitude of over 4,500m, the coffee is a great refreshment for travelers on the journey along the highest plateau of the world. The observation deck also has a yak culture showroom and creative work and shared space, as the yak is the main cattle species and food source on the Tibetan Plateau. By spending money here, you might be giving a helping hand to those working there but living under the poverty line and graduates who are starting to make a living in this poverty alleviation project that is also a culture and tourism spot. The area receives an average of 1,000 tourists a day and pays each employee an average of 5,000 yuan every month.
