In the sunken exhibition area of the museum are the remains of city walls dating to ancient dynasties in Luoyang.

"We plan to develop experience activities in which people can visit archaeological sites to enrich their knowledge and cultivate their interests," said Hou Xiumin of the Luoyang City Cultural Relics and Archaeology Research Institute.

Luoyang has opened 85 museums so far. The total is expected to reach 100 by the end of this year, which means full coverage of museums in nine counties.
